Welcome to Ugly Media. You can throw away your preconceptions
about music labels and corporate cookie-cutter A&R guys.
We've tossed all of it out the window and are going to put
our model to the test. The idea? To get the recording artist
and music fan as close together as possible using digital
(and direct) distribution methods. It's all about the music
baby.
I've long lived and breathed for this chance. I'm busting
it to bring you the best acts I can find. Around the corner,
or around the globe, I'm into what's good despite the current
trendy sound. As my Ugly Media A&R team finds them,
I promise to deliver great music to YOU the way YOU want
it.

The Artists
We're proud to announce the signing of UM's
first recording artist, Flakjacket, a hardworking Upstate
NY rock band that is slated to be in the studio later this
month to lay down their sophomore album "Almost Always
Never." The effort is being produced by Grammy-nominee
Marc Fuller and is scheduled for release in September 2009.
We couldn't be prouder or more excited for these guys. Please

Music
Flakjacket's first album "Angels&Fireflies"
(2006) is currently featured on our Media page. The self-released
album garnered national attention on National Public Radio
and beyond…be sure to check out a couple tracks and
you'll see why this fresh and new act was a no-brainer to
become our flagship artist. Catch Flakjacket this summer
on their upcoming tour of New England (link). Thanks to
